1956 Dr.Forrest C. Shaklee founded a company committed to developing products that improve the health of people without harming the planet. 1960 Shaklee introduces Basic-H, one of the first nontoxic environmental cleaners. 1970s Shaklee introduces one of the first non-phosphate biodegradable laundry detergents. 1980s Shaklee sponsors two expeditions to Arctic to look at the environmental impact of climate change. Shaklee helps plant 1 million trees in Nepal. 1990s Basic H was official product of Earth Day. Family Circle Magazine identifies Shaklee as one of 10 of the most environmental companies. Shaklee introduces one of the first non-phosphate dishwashing powders. Shaklee household products used in the Biosphere 2 project. 2000s Shaklee opens our awardwinning environmentally friendly World Headquarters, designed using sustainable materials, including certified sustainable wood, recycled carpet, and recycled plastics. 2000 - Shaklee is first company in the world to be certified as Climate Neutral - and having a net zero impact on global warming. 2002 - Shaklee receives U.S. EPA Climate Protection Award. 2005 - Shaklee becomes major partner of 2004 Nobel Peace laureate, Dr. Wangari Maathai and her Greenbelt Movement. 2006 - Shaklee launches environmental campaign: A Million Trees.
